Wynn Partners with Local SME to Recycle Shredded Playing Cards
Becoming Macau's first integrated resort to transform playing cards
into recycled materials locally
Macau, December 15, 2023 — With the aim of protecting the environment and in line with the Macao SAR Government's environmental policies, Wynn is committed to creating innovative solutions for reducing the use of plastic for the city's long-term sustainability. Most recently, Wynn joined forces with a local SME to recycle and convert previously used and shredded playing cards from Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace into raw materials to be utilized in making recycled paper products. These efforts help minimize solid waste and reduce pressure on the Macau Refuse Incineration Plant. Wynn is the first integrated resort in Macau to recycle shredded playing cards locally.
For years, Wynn has actively implemented and strengthened its sustainable development strategies by introducing new technologies in support of sustainability. The company has pioneered a variety of new initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle, including taking the lead in introducing the 'Nordaq 2000' Refilling System to Macau which has reduced the use of plastic bottles at both Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace. Wynn also became the first to introduce the 'Winnow Vision' system, a revolutionary food management technology that uses artificial intelligence to accurately track and measure what food is being wasted.
