Wynn Debuts Special Chocolate F1 at Macao Grand Prix Museum
Macao, November 8, 2024 ─ To boost the integration of "Tourism + Sports" and enhance Macao's tourism appeal, Wynn and the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) are jointly showcasing a Wynn Special Chocolate F1 display at the Macao Grand Prix Museum. By presenting a creative combination of gastronomy and art through the Chocolate F1, Wynn and MGTO aim to promote the Macau Grand Prix culture and highlight Macao's reputation as a UNESCO-designated "Creative City of Gastronomy". Commissioned by Wynn and handcrafted by culinary automotive artiste Bob Tay, the streamlined Chocolate F1 weighs in at 100 kg, making it not only one of the world's lightest hypercars, but also one of the most delicious. Now through January 20, 2025, the Wynn Special Chocolate F1 is on display at the Macao Grand Prix Museum, where residents of Macao, Grand Prix fans, and visitors from around the world will have the opportunity to see the car up-close during the 71st Macau Grand Prix this year.
Today (November 8), Wynn held a launch ceremony at the Macao Grand Prix Museum to officially unveil the Wynn Special Chocolate F1 to the public. Official dignitaries attending the launch ceremony included: Mr. Ricky Hoi, Deputy Director of MGTO; Ms. Lei Si Leng, Acting Vice President of the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Ms. Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau, Limited; and the creative mastermind behind the Wynn Special Chocolate F1 himself, culinary artiste Bob Tay.
Ms. Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau, Limited said: "The Macau Grand Prix is not only a major sports and racing event here in Macao, but also a powerful tourism brand that is already well-established around the world. I believe that through the innovative blend of "gastronomy" and "motorsports", inspiring culinary creations such as this Wynn Special Chocolate F1 will supercharge the Macau Grand Prix. It also demonstrates how Macao's role as a "Creative City of Gastronomy" and the city's passion for motorsports complement each other perfectly."
Bob Tay, creator of the Wynn Special Chocolate F1, is an award-winning pastry chef who has received three Best Artist Trophies at the annual International Food Art Competition and 27 Excellence Awards at the World Food Competition. A member of the American Hollywood Film and
Disneyland Art Production Team, Tay is a master at creating intricate and edible works of art. For this sculpture, Tay spent a grueling 360 hours with his team to create a 2.5-meter replica of an F1 hypercar made entirely of chocolate – the only one of its kind in the world. The incredible attention to detail in the creation of this confectionary masterpiece pays tribute to the beautiful artistry and technology behind the world's most stunning sports cars and hypercars.
Through its collaboration with the Macao Grand Prix Museum, Wynn hopes to enrich the visitor experience with new and unique displays. By giving visitors the opportunity to witness this exquisitely crafted Chocolate F1 replica up close, the goal is to deepen their understanding of the Macau Grand Prix and boost their interest in motorsports. The display also further highlights Macao's role as a "Creative City of Gastronomy", as it creatively blends food with art, which will attract more local residents and tourists from around the world to experience the fascinating motorsports culture of the Macau Grand Prix.
In addition, Wynn also plans to invite Ralf Aron, second runner-up in the 64th Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix to visit the Macao Grand Prix Museum, where he will have an opportunity to explore the captivating collection of exhibits on display and discover Macao's thrilling motorsports history and culture. This visit to the museum by such a famous and influential Formula 3 racing driver will shine a spotlight on Macao's most iconic sports and tourism event with aim of boosting international visitation into Macao.
