Liaison Office recognizes Wynn for its contributions during pandemic
Wynn previously donated MOP 20 million to support mainland China in combating the pandemic. Besides purchasing and donating 30,000 pieces of medical protective gear to Hubei province (worth MOP 3.4 million), Wynn also contributed HKD 10 million to the donation account collected by the Macau Liaison Office to assist the follow up work on the pandemic in Hubei. Meanwhile, under the guidance and assistance of the Macau Liaison Office, Wynn donated 5 large-scale, high-standard artificial heart-lung machines and multiple sets of medical supplies for adults and children (worth over MOP 6.3 million) to key hospitals in Hubei (including Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, and TongJi Hospital of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, among others). Wynn's goal was to help medical institutions in various places rapidly improve the level of first aid available for critically ill patients through the donation of advanced high-end medical equipment of international standard, improve the treatment success rate for patients being severely impacted by the virus, and further enhance the overall effectiveness of treatment. In doing so, it could provide effective support for subsequent prevention and control work. On the local front in Macau, Wynn launched a scheme in April to deliver meals made with love to frontline medical staff at Kiang Wu Hospital for 60 consecutive days. In May, 18 medical professionals from Kiang Wu Hospital hosted a total of 75 learning sessions on virus prevention and hygiene training for 2,848 Wynn team members. These sessions included information on anti-pandemic measures and relevant knowledge that had been adopted at home and abroad. Additionally, these medical professionals also taught and encouraged attendees to correctly maintain these measures alongside personal hygiene habits.
In support of Macau's anti-pandemic work, Wynn actively leveraged its global procurement network and purchased 1 million medical face masks suitable for hospital use from suppliers around the world, which were donated to the MSAR government. Wynn also ordered over MOP 2 million worth of hand sanitizer from local suppliers. With support from the Macao Chamber of Commerce, these supplies are expected to reach members of the Macao Chamber of Commerce and local companies in need. This initiative is expected to benefit over 13,000 local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) while also supporting local production of anti-epidemic supplies. In addition, Wynn also donated anti-pandemic supplies and electronic devices for online learning to organizations including Tung Sin Tong and Salvation Army (Macau) Education Center in order to support the different needs of all walks of life in Macau. In parallel, Wynn sympathized with the huge impact of the pandemic on local SMEs and donated MOP 5 million to support SMEs, social enterprises, social service organizations, and the underprivileged who are most affected, joining hands with the community to combat the situation. In the hope of promoting the sustainable development of Macau's economy in the face of the pandemic, Wynn also took the lead in cooperating with local SMEs to support the production of locally designed reusable masks, becoming Macau's first large-scale international integrated enterprise to procure and use reusable "Made in Macao" masks. Wynn took such practical steps in order to assist SMEs and alleviate the impact of the virus on society and the economy. Lastly, Wynn officially launched the "Caring 8000" campaign that will run for seven months from May to December this year to complement the electronic consumption vouchers introduced by the government, involving the participation of about 700 local SMEs. The campaign aims to enhance online promotion and enrich the sales experience for SMEs, encourage consumption among the public and accelerate the economic recovery in the community.
