Macau, April 9, 2024 — Illuminarium proudly presents "MUSIC IN LIGHT", a spectacular new show premiering exclusively at Wynn Palace in Macau starting from today. Created by the internationally renowned Radical Media production company, "MUSIC IN LIGHT" breaks through the barriers of classical music and transcends the boundaries of a traditional stage by using the world's most innovative and modern digital art techniques to vividly showcase the masterpieces of world-renowned composers such as Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms and Strauss. This unprecedented new audiovisual journey is an exciting, multi-sensory musical experience for visitors of all ages. "MUSIC IN LIGHT" is the latest in a series of immersive experiences held at Illuminarium in Macau since its opening in December, and further demonstrates Wynn's ongoing commitment toward supporting the Macao SAR Government's '1+4' diversified development strategy.

At the heart of the show is the music. It is an unforgettable journey of not only seeing and hearing, but also truly feeling the music. Visitors to "MUSIC IN LIGHT" will surround themselves in music and light, exploring 11 classical orchestral pieces played by acclaimed musicians from the Los Angeles Philharmonic and conducted by internationally renowned conductor Geoffrey Pope. Each piece is illuminated with a custom-designed immersive story of scale, color and texture to showcase every nuance within the music, transforming the space before the visitor's very eyes. Audiences are taken on a journey from grand scale to compelling detail, constantly shifting the space, soundscape and visuals to build excitement and awe.

Act I of the immersive experience begins in the Tuning Room, where the ticking of a metronome invites guests in. Next, the sun rises to reveal a stunning string quartet featuring Eine Kleine Nachtmusik: Andante, one of Mozart's most famous works designed for a chamber ensemble. The second musical chapter reveals the visual story of the Four Seasons "Summer" Finale by Italian "Maesro di Concerti" Vivaldi, showcasing a dazzling spectacle of blooming, whirling flowers, reminiscent of a magical summer garden. As the last petal falls, audiences travel into space with the full force of a 70-piece orchestra playing The Planets: Jupiter by Holst with pacing, scale, and visual composition featuring the "black hole" and all the magnificent planets in the galaxy. Visitors then enter a playful pizzicato world of Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, where the space is filled with pulsating colors and close-up views to the plucking of stringed instruments, which tug at the heartstrings of everyone in the room. In celebration of the cello, this complex instrument is brought to life in kaleidoscopic color as Andrew Shulman, world-renowned principal cellist of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra plays Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G major.  As Act I draws to a close, visitors journey through soaring melodies, towering waterfalls and below the surface of rushing rivers during Smetana's Má Vlast "Moldau".

Act II swiftly commences with a delightful surge of energy as bees and honeycomb patterns race across the floor during Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee. Musicians take center stage once again for Brahms' Symphony No. 1 Finale, where visuals move vertically in perfect rhythm with the rising feeling of the piece before transitioning into a swirling zoetrope for an immersive waltzing experience with Strauss' Overture to Die Fledermaus. For the last Act III, Bizet's L'Arlésienne Suite: Farandole is a mesmerizing combination of pulsing music and visuals to present the analogy of a laser clock keeping time. A fireworks spectacle closes out "MUSIC IN LIGHT" with the Finale Organ Symphony by Saint-Saëns. Streaks of light and explosions of bright, colorful powder and paint fill the room for a powerful and shocking finale.

The visual techniques featured in "MUSIC IN LIGHT" are a combination of cinematic in-camera effects, lasers, and 2D / 3D animation. Audiences are immersed in dynamic images that create a visual world unique to each piece. World-class Hollywood sound engineers have mixed the audio for this show so that it envelops the audience completely through HOLOPLOT, one of the most advanced sound systems in the world. Haptic technology, which creates a sense of touch, further amplifies the sensory experience, accentuating the highs and lows of the musical compositions, giving visitors a unique opportunity to actually feel the music.
