Macao, March 28, 2024 — With the aim of building a greener Macao, Wynn remains committed toward integrating environmental practices into its business practices and improving sustainable development standards for the hospitality industry. This year, Wynn is once again pleased to support the annual "Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition" (MIECF) hosted by the Macao SAR Government to share the latest sustainability projects with visitors, and to collaborate with SMEs in organizing environmental workshops. In addition, Wynn hosted a "2024 Wynn Local SME Procurement Partnership Meeting and Recycling Shredded Playing Cards Project Signing Ceremony" today at the Wynn Exhibition Area, attracting close to 170 local SME registrations. Wynn hopes to continue working with local companies to expand green business opportunities, promote diversification and encourage the growth of sustainable development practices to create a brighter future for Macao.

Officiating guests attending the opening ceremony of the partnership meeting today (March 28) included: Mr. Zhao Su, Assistant of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. U U Sang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM); Mr. Ieong Siu Chong, Division Head of the Environmental Inspection Division, Environmental Protection Bureau; Ms. Victoria Alexa Kuan Chan, Director-General, Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center; Mr. Chui Yuk Lum, President, Industrial Association of Macau; Mr. Choi Tat Ming, Vice President of the Board of Directors, Macao Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Andy Ng, Director of the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre and Assistant General Manager of Da Heng Qin (Macau) Corporation Limited; Ms. Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited; and Mr. Craig Fullalove, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of Wynn Macau, Limited.

With MIECF as a constructive platform for the creation of innovative environmental projects, Wynn is holding a "2024 Wynn Local SME Procurement Partnership Meeting" at the Wynn Exhibition Area (H36) to strengthen ties with local suppliers. During the three-day partnership meeting, Wynn procurement specialists will meet with representatives from many sustainable and innovative local SMEs to jointly explore potential co-operation opportunities that will lead to mutually beneficial and successful environmental projects in future. Recently, with the support and recommendation of IPIM, Wynn partnered with a local SME for local recycling of shredded playing cards into raw materials for paper products. Wynn became the first integrated resort in Macao to transform shredded playing cards into recycled pulp, resulting in an innovative solution to bring positive benefits to society and the environment. At today's Recycling Shredded Playing Cards Project signing ceremony, Mr. Zhao Su, Assistant of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. U U Sang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, IPIM and Mr. Ieong Siu Chong, Division Head of the Environmental Inspection Division, Environmental Protection Bureau witnessed Ms. Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited and  Mr. Sou Wai Keong, Chief Executive Officer of Lek Hang sign a co-operation agreement to jointly implement environmental projects.

The imaginative team at Wynn also created new and innovative ways to design the Wynn Exhibition Area at MIECF this year by re-using coffee capsules to make giant hot air balloons for the exhibition wall and by transforming unused masks into beautiful floral decorations. Local SMEs and creative enterprises are also showcasing their high-quality fashion products made by yarns upcycled from discarded textiles and recycled yarns at the Wynn Exhibition Area. The space also features the research and development projects from the innovative team of students at Pui Ching Middle School, who received multiple awards at the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM) sponsored by Wynn. The projects on display include research on the use of synthetic biology methods to extract essential oils from flower waste provided by Wynn and the use of AI to identify and sort wastes. The goal of this display is to share the creative achievements of outstanding local students with the community, promote green innovation and encourage the community to upcycle. To further promote a greener Macao community, Wynn has also invited local cultural and creative enterprises to conduct environmental workshops, where old yarn and recycled paper are used to make creative handicrafts. Everyone in the community is welcome to visit the Wynn Exhibition Area to learn more about the workshops and to sign up for the workshops to be held on March 29 and 30.

Close to 170 local SMEs have registered to attend the three-day Wynn Local SME Procurement Partnership Meeting, surpassing last year's record of participants. This impressive number reflects the demand among SMEs to grow the market. Since 2016, Wynn has proactively hosted procurement partnership meetings with local SMEs. Prioritizing local procurement is important to Wynn, which continually strives to promote the sustainable development of Macao's Small and Micro enterprises, by supporting local suppliers and helping them explore more business opportunities. In 2023, Wynn's total purchases from local SMEs recorded an increase of 89% over the same period in 2022. Among these purchases, the total procurements  for the "three types of local businesses" (Small and Micro Enterprises, "Made in Macao" Companies and Macao Young Entrepreneurs) grew by 87% over 2022. The data also shows that the three types of local businesses are producing higher quality products and both individuals and companies are boosting their competitive edge. This is very beneficial for SMEs in the future, as they will gain access to more business opportunities in the neighboring Greater Bay Area and around the world.

In future, in addition to actively promoting a green corporate culture, Wynn will also maintain close co-operation with IPIM to increase awareness at exhibitions, generate more business opportunities, and accelerate the moderate diversification and sustainable development of the Macao economy.
