Macau, April 8, 2024 — The inaugural "Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards" ceremony is set to take place on April 13 in Macau, where the very best of Chinese wines will be awarded 23 highly coveted trophies. In conjunction with the ceremony, Wynn is hosting an awards week featuring a series of events including a Grand Chinese Wine Banquet, thought-provoking Masterclass sessions and an engaging China Wineries Forum at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace from April 12 to 14. This "Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards" event – the world's largest Chinese wine competition of international standard – is designed to serve as an unprecedented platform of knowledge sharing, where wine experts, representatives from China's leading wineries, industry professionals, international media, and oenophiles from around the world gather in Macau to showcase the excellence of high-quality Chinese wines on a global stage.

To kick off the awards week, a Grand Chinese Wine Banquet will be held in the elegant Wynn Macau Grand Ballroom on April 12. Julien Boulard MW, a renowned Master of Wine and wine judge, will host this very special banquet, leading guests on a journey to explore a perfect pairing of exceptional Wynn dishes with fine Chinese wines.

On the evening of April 13, the highly anticipated "Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards" ceremony will take place at the opulent Wynn Palace Grand Theater Ballroom. After an intensive judging week of rigorous blind tastings by an esteemed panel of 27 internationally acclaimed wine experts comprising renowned Masters of Wine (MW), Master Sommeliers (MS), winemakers, educators, writers, hoteliers, wine buyers and more last month, a total of 23 prestigious trophies will be awarded across three major categories: "Wynn Signature Trophies", "Varietals Champion Trophies" and "Regional Champion Trophies" at the ceremony. While witnessing China's most exceptional wines receive the industry's highest honors, guests will be treated to an array of extraordinary dishes prepared by two of Wynn's award-winning Chinese chefs – Executive Chef Tam Kuok Fung of the Michelin-starred Chef Tam's Seasons and Executive Chef Chan Tak Kwong of the Michelin two-star Wing Lei restaurant.

Following on from the awards gala dinner, Wynn has invited experienced wine experts to conduct four Masterclass sessions and an exchange forum from April 12 to 14. On the afternoon of April 12, renowned winemaker, wine columnist and sommelier Ian Dai will host a "Wine Tasting and Food Pairing" Masterclass to explore the extraordinary world of wines through wine tastings and food pairings while also leading guests on a tasting of five distinctive wines; Ma Huiqin, a professor at the China Agricultural University and a famous wine expert who has been studying Chinese wine for the past 30 years, will hold two Masterclasses. The first is titled "Rooted in Deep Culture – Shandong Wines" on April 13 and the second is titled "The Wine Songs of Passion – Xinjiang and Ningxia" on April 14. During each class, he will explain the unique advantages and characteristics of the two wine producing regions in China and take guests on a journey to savor a selection of nine wines from each region. On the morning of April 14, Julien Boulard MW will host a "China Wineries Forum", where representatives from wineries and winemakers will share their insights on the Chinese wine industry and will take guests on a guided tasting of six high-quality Chinese wines.
