Wynn to present Special Exhibition "Hello China, Hello Macao - The Odyssey of Jingdezhen Porcelain: A Heritage Voyage from Macao to the World"
Macao, July 11, 2025 – To support the return of "Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025", Wynn has curated the Special Exhibition "Hello China, Hello Macao - The Odyssey of Jingdezhen Porcelain: A Heritage Voyage from Macao to the World", which is slated to be inaugurated at Wynn Palace on July 18 and will be open to the public from July 19 to October 19. It is the world's first large-scale immersive art exhibition featuring porcelains from Jingdezhen, with renowned Chinese traditional artisan and educator Master Chang Shana (常沙娜) serving as the chief aesthetic advisor. It has also been officially included in the program of the "Culture City of East Asia 2025 – Macao, China."
This year, Wynn proudly launched the new cultural brand "Wynn Culture" with the goal of "promoting outstanding Chinese traditional culture and fostering mutual exchange and appreciation between diverse civilizations". It uses culture as a bridge and art as a medium to showcase the cultural maturity of China to the rest of the world while also infusing Chinese traditional culture with modern vitality. As the first flagship project under "Wynn Culture", "Hello China, Hello Macao - The Odyssey of Jingdezhen Porcelain: A Heritage Voyage from Macao to the World" presents a groundbreaking exhibition that reveals over a millennium of ceramic artistry through cutting-edge digital interpretation, in conjunction with the nomination of Jingdezhen's handmade porcelain heritage sites for the UNESCO World Heritage List. It reimagines the city's rich porcelain heritage using immersive light and shadow displays, continuing the story of East-West cultural exchange.
The exhibition is divided into two sections "Digital Exhibition" and "Art Exhibition", which complement each other while highlighting the theme of this Special Exhibition:
Digital Exhibition: Imperial Kiln Treasures – Digital Rebirth
The digital exhibition will be held at Illuminarium at Wynn Palace under the theme "A Thousand Years of the Ceramic Road ∙ A Fusion of Civilizations". It will showcase the legendary journey of how Chinese ceramics have thrived in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi and gone global, featuring an immersive narrative in four chapters.
Art Exhibition: A Dialogue Between Past and Present – Symphony of Masters
Over 30 national and contemporary craft masters will collaborate to showcase their mastery. Four renowned porcelain varieties from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi will also be presented, each reflecting their historical origins and unique craftsmanship. Clark porcelain, a historically significant style known for its role in Sino-Portuguese cultural exchange, will be featured alongside the "Macau Science 1" ceramic series, which offers a modern artistic interpretation of space exploration.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see the Buccleuch Vases from the exceptional art collection at Wynn - a masterpiece set symbolizing the fusion of Eastern and Western art. The exhibition also includes the first overseas debut of Peace Dove, an inaugural national gift designed by renowned Chinese traditional artisan and educator Master Chang Shana for the People's Republic of China. Additionally, a seminar titled "Silk Road Ceramic Journey · Macau's New Chapter" will bring together industry leaders and cultural experts to discuss the modern relevance of ceramics in civilizational exchanges. Wynn invites you to join this cultural rendezvous spanning millennia on July 18.
