Wynn Hosts First "ATD Macau Summit and ATD x Wynn Asia-Pacific CLO Forum" in Macao

the moderate diversification development of industries

Wynn remains committed to supporting the Macao SAR government's '1+4' moderate diversification development strategy and continues to attract large-scale international MICE events into Macao. In a bid to further boost 'MICE + Tourism' for Macao, Wynn and the Association for Talent Development (ATD) jointly organized the "ATD Macau Summit and ATD x Wynn Asia-Pacific CLO Forum" from 18 to 19 April. The two-day event is supported by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), and the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau. This international event, which is being held in Macao for the first time, brings together more than 150 senior talent development executives and senior professionals from leading firms across the Asia-Pacific region, including China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore to explore cutting-edge technologies and share best practices.

The opening ceremony for the talent development event was held today at the Wynn Palace Grand Theater Ballroom. The ceremony was officiated by Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of MGTO; Ms. Elaine Wong, Executive Director of the Board of Directors of IPIM; Ms. Cheong Man Fai, Head of the Department of Youth of Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Dr. Wei Wang, Senior Director of ATD Global; and Ms. Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Wynn Macau, Limited presided over the opening ceremony. ATD also awarded Wynn the "ATD 2024 Global Champion Award" in recognition of Wynn's continued advancement of learning and development and for its ongoing support of community collaboration and innovation for boosting global talent development.

Ms. Linda Chen of Wynn Macau, Limited said in her speech: "Wynn believes in cultivating a culture of care that extends to everyone and everything. We are passionate about hosting events that make lasting, positive impacts on the growth and development of individuals. This summit presents an unique opportunity for industry professionals to network with one another, learn from the best in the business, and shape the future of talent development on a global scale."

Also speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Wei Wang of ATD Global said: "I wish to thank Wynn for hosting the first ATD Macau Summit which focuses on 'Applying Learning Technology and Innovation in Talent Development'. The Summit aims to explore how learning technologies can best support the work we do in talent development to help learners, leaders, and organizations quickly seize new opportunities that make an impact."

Many international experts in the field of talent development shared their insights during the forum and summit. The event featured two keynote speakers on both days – Ms. Megan Torrance, CEO and Founder of TorranceLearning and Mr. Bob Gerard, Director of Learning Ingenuity at Accenture. Ms. Torrance talked about the trends of "Learning Technology in Action" and implementing a strategic roadmap for the Learning Technology ecosystem, while Mr. Gerard shared how his company practices "Work Learn Fusion" and introduced ways to design engaging learning journeys.  The event also invited Mr. Victor Zhang, President of Huawei University to talk about Huawei University's enterprise enablement exploration in the era of AI, while Dr. Wei Wang, Senior Director of ATD Global presented key findings from ATD research reports and shared the latest trends in the field of global learning and development. Two experts from South Korea – Mr. Chan Lee, Professor of Vocational Education and Workforce Development for Seoul National University and Ms. Jae Eun Kim, CEO of Incoaching, explained how behavioral science assessments are crucial in driving digital transformation.

Two panel discussions were also held at the ATD Macau Summit. Ms. Marcy Hsiao, an ATD Facilitator, moderated the first panel discussion which included: Mr. David Hendrick Jr., Director of the National Healthcare Group of Singapore; Dr. Olga Gavrilova, Head of Learning and Development of EPAM Systems, APAC; and Mr. Hiroshi Nishino, Vice-Chairman of CeFIL and Co-founder of DBIC. The second session, moderated by Dr. Wei Wang, featured panelists from award-winning companies that earned the ATD BEST Award last year – Dr. Barry Ip, Vice President of Learning and Advancement at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace and Dr. Zhengzhou Liu, General Manager of Learning & Development Center of GF Securities Co. They shared key highlights from their award-winning projects to cite specific examples for industry professionals. The forum and summit served as insightful and inspirational in-depth communication platforms for participants to learn information first-hand, about talent development trends in the Asia-Pacific region.
