More than 400 team members participate to learn more about vaccines

Macau, June 11, 2021 – In order to encourage team members and their families to get vaccinated as soon as possible and to join hands to fight against the pandemic in Macau, Wynn hosted two vaccine seminars at Wynn Palace and Wynn Macau on June 8 and 9 respectively. Mr. Weng Lau, Senior Technical Officer in the Unit for Communicable Disease Prevention and Diseases Surveillance at the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Health Bureau, was invited to give team members an in-depth explanation on information related to the COVID-19 vaccines to strengthen their confidence in vaccination. The two briefing sessions attracted an overwhelming response, involving the participation of more than 400 Wynn team members.

At the seminars, Mr. Lau shared the current COVID-19 pandemic situation and progress on vaccinations with Wynn team members, as well as introducing the details of the two vaccines currently available to the public, including their efficacy, safety, common adverse reactions and other precautionary aspects. He also explained the workflow for the local COVID-19 vaccination program and the importance of achieving a high degree of vaccination coverage, attentively answering relevant questions asked by team members to help them better understand the benefits of vaccination and so enable them to make the best choice for themselves.

Furthermore, Wynn will invite medical personnel from the Health Bureau to set up a Vaccination Center at Wynn Palace. Due to significant demand, the vaccination period will be extended to three consecutive days from June 15 to 17 to provide a vaccination service for team members and their families, enabling more people to get the COVID-19 vaccines as soon as possible. All appointments for the three-day period have been fully booked, with more than 1,700 people having registered to get vaccinated. It is expected that these seminars and outreach efforts can help to further boost Macau's vaccination rate, with the aim of building herd immunity in Macau society and safeguarding the public health.
