Wynn Supports Welfare Shop Project of Macau Holy House of Mercy for 12th Consecutive Year
Macao, October 14, 2024 ─ Wynn has always been committed to sharing our core value of caring for the community by actively participating in a variety of charitable and public welfare activities which are designed to support community development and extend our care to the underprivileged. This year, Wynn is pleased to continue supporting the Welfare Shop Project of Macau Holy House of Mercy (SCMM) by donating MOP300,000 and sponsoring the distribution of food baskets to 373 underprivileged families from the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Association of Parents of the People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau and more. Wynn has supported this meaningful SCMM Welfare Shop Project for 12 consecutive years.
Ms. Linda Chen, President and Vice Chairman of Wynn Macau, Limited presented a MOP300,000 donation cheque to SCMM at the donation ceremony on 12 October, which was received by Mr. António José de Freitas, President of the Board of Trustees of SCMM. Official dignitaries attending the ceremony included Mr. José Ricardo das Neves, President of the Supervisory Committee of SCMM, Ms. Ng Sio Lai, President of the General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macau, Mr. Leong Wai Fong, Vice President and Secretary General of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Mr. Thomas Lau, Vice President of Human Resources of Wynn Palace and Mr. Raymond Lei, Assistant Vice President of Community and Government Relations of Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace.
In keeping with the company's ongoing mission of giving back to society, 35 Wynn volunteers distributed food baskets containing food and daily necessities to 373 underprivileged families at the SCMM, to help reduce their daily burdens. In addition to providing these necessities, Wynn also gave a multi-purpose shopping trolley and a supermarket cash voucher valued at MOP100 to each family.
Established in 2013, the Welfare Shop Project of Macau Holy House of Mercy (SCMM) provides short-term food assistance to families with financial difficulties caused by inflation. Since its founding, Wynn has continuously supported the Welfare Shop Project by donating funds or supplies to provide as much support as possible to underprivileged members of the community with the aim of benefiting more people in a practical way.
